Classroom Training & Events

Idaho Rural Water Association offers training classes for drinking water and wastewater utility operations specialists as well as for other related industry professionals such as utility boards members, elected officials, clerks, and managers.  Unless otherwise specified all classes have been approved or are pending approval for drinking water or wastewater CEUs (Continuing Education Units) by the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL) - formerly IBOL.

Utility Management Certification

April 26-28, 2022 - Boise and Online

Utility Management Certification (UMC) provides recognition for the achievements and expertise of certified utility professionals. Join the thousands of UMC-certified professionals recognized for their outstanding knowledge in management and operations. Registration fees include a UMC book (valued at $65).

This training is a three-day course that will be taught in Boise at the IRWA Technical Training Center and broadcast live to all those who want to participate from their home or office. After registering for this class, Tondee Clark will email you an application to take the UMC Exam. Please return it to IRWA as soon as possible so we can get your credentials approved by NRWA's Water University before the class. You must register and turn in your application by April 15th.

There will be an open book test at the end of day three (you may take the test later if you prefer). You will want to bring a laptop or tablet to class with you to take your test.

*Please bring a laptop or tablet to class on the third day so that you may take your UMC exam at the end of class. Exam is open book.
